Plot summary
Richard of Gloucester is dismayed when the dying King Edward IV names their brother George, Duke of Clarence to guard his son and heir, the young Prince Edward, instead of giving him the Protectorship. Richard kills George with a dagger carrying the Woodville crest, so the blame falls on the king's in-laws, and he is named Protector in his place. His wife Anne welcomes the killing and pushes him to claim the crown. After King Edward dies, Richard demands the widowed queen's two sons be placed in his custody.

- Eddie Small, the producer who made Tower of London with the Cormans, ruled that the film be shot in black and white for cost reasons and told them only shortly before shooting; Gene Corman recalled a big argument between Small and Roger Corman, and said Small counted on Vincent Price's fans not realizing they were buying a black-and-white Price film.
- Tower of London has no story connection to the 1939 film of the same name that also featured Vincent Price, but its battle scenes were partly achieved by reusing footage from that earlier film.
