Plot summary
On a mission in Aleppo, Syria, Navy SEALs led by Lieutenant Commander Karen Greer free a CIA operative and discover the men holding him are Russian troops. Three months later, Russian FSB operatives covertly kill two members of the team, then break into John Kelly's home and murder his pregnant wife Pam. Kelly kills three of the attackers before he is rushed to a hospital with near-fatal wounds. In Washington, Greer, Kelly's team leader, meets Ritter and Defense Secretary Thomas Clay to work out how the FSB learned the SEALs' identities, as leaked news of the attack further strains relations between the two countries. The CIA declines to investigate, so Greer passes confidential information to Kelly, who sets out after those responsible.
