Plot summary
Taishi Fura has drifted away from his classmates and keeps to himself at high school. A ghoul attack changes that: one of his former friends is left in the hospital and another is killed. Fura wants to avenge them, so he sets out to track down the creature responsible. The search brings him together with Kishou Arima, a quiet student at the same school. Arima is no ordinary teenager; despite his age, he already serves as a full-fledged investigator for the CCG, the government task force formed to deal with ghouls. The two of them join forces to hunt a ghoul known as Lantern.
