Plot summary

The Cannes Film Festival's 60th anniversary brings together 34 short films, each roughly three minutes long, made by filmmakers from five continents and 25 countries. They are invited to put on screen a state of mind stirred by the movie house. Many return to the same ground: tributes to classic European art cinema, the fading habit of going to the movies, and the pull of a screen in childhood. In one piece a blind man recalls showing Casablanca to a rural village; elsewhere a group of Iranian women weep at Romeo and Juliet, a crowd in Alexandria gathers for an open-air show, and a factory crew spends its lunch break watching a silent film about a factory lunch break.
