Plot summary

In October 1890, Bible professor Russell Carlisle has finished a manuscript, "The Changing Times," that sets out Christ's teachings apart from His name. The board of Grace Bible Seminary is ready to endorse it unanimously until his colleague Dr. Norris Anderson objects, arguing that morality taught without Jesus as its standard will harm coming generations. The Dean suspends the vote until the two men settle their disagreement. Anderson invites Carlisle to his home and shows him a secret time machine built by his late father. He sends Carlisle 100 years into the future, telling him to return to the same spot by Wednesday night, to keep his origins quiet, and to look for a Christian librarian named Michelle Bain.
