Plot summary
Audrey Burke and her husband Brian have been married eleven years and live with their daughter Harper, ten, and son Dory, six. Jerry Sunborne, a heroin addict, has been Brian's close friend since childhood. Police come to the door with the news that Brian died defending a woman from her husband. At the funeral Audrey sees that she never told Jerry, so her brother Neal brings him. She offers Jerry the room next to the garage, and he moves in and works at staying off heroin.
