Plot summary
Lee Grove, eighteen, is an equestrian in a small town. Her older brother Casey has died in a car accident, and her father, Jeff, spends his days in the garage finishing a car he had been rebuilding for Casey, leaving Lee the family's grief and her younger brother Logan to look after. Casey's best friend Jordan Bishop, a football player who is afraid of horses, begins helping her in the barn. Jordan holds a football scholarship to a college in California, though his father Thomas lost the money set aside for it through gambling. As Lee and Jordan grow close, the town's racial prejudices surface, and the relationship draws attention from both sides of a divide.
