The Winning Season (2009) on Netflix

Plot summary

Bill Greaves is a former high school coach and athlete in a Hoosier town where boys' basketball matters most. He drinks too much, buses tables at a cafe, and rarely sees his daughter Molly from an old marriage. His friend Terry, now a high school principal, offers him the girls' varsity basketball job. Bill takes it without much spirit. Six girls show up to practice, one with a broken foot, and they are awful in their first game. Bill regrets the job once he meets the team. With help from Donna, the school's bus driver, he tries to figure out whether he can coach girls at all.
