Mel Hinkle is an American actor known for the role of Young Big Boo in Orange is the New Black. Mel was born and raised in northern New Jersey, started her career at the age of 3 (thanks to a push from her grandfather) and quickly got bit by the bug. At 16 she made the shift to put performing at top priority, and hasn't looked back since. At age 18, Mel was inspired to get more involved behind the camera, so she founded the independent production company Hypokrite Films. In 2012, the company was officiated and started to take off.
