Plot summary
Kristian Eikjord is finishing his last day at the geology center in Geiranger before the family moves to Stavanger. When the sensors at Åkerneset indicate the groundwater has disappeared, he leaves his children Sondre and Julia in the car and returns to the center. There he and his colleague Jacob Vikra find the sensor wires snapped inside the crevice. His former boss Arvid Øvrebø raises the alert level but will not sound the evacuation alarm during the tourist season. Records of earlier avalanches lead Kristian to treat the measurements as a warning of a slide into the fjord. His wife Idun still has shifts at the hotel in town.

- The film is based on real rock-slide tsunamis in Norway, including one that destroyed the village of Tafjord on 7 April 1934 and killed 40 people; an earlier 1905 tsunami killed 60, and another 31 years later killed 74.
- For the flooded-hotel scene where Kristian tries to rescue his family, Joner trained with free-diving instructors so he could hold his breath for three minutes underwater.
- All the actors in the Norwegian disaster film performed their own stunts, something the director described as "utterly nerve-racking".
