Plot summary
Back from Vietnam, Jeremy Collier is unable to adjust to small-town life and is haunted by his war experiences. His father Bob expects him to pick up exactly where he left off and shows no understanding of post-traumatic stress disorder. His mother Maurine treats him as if he were a child and seems to think he should forget the war. His sister Karen is more understanding, but their father discourages her from helping him. Jeremy remains at odds with a family that cannot grasp what he has been through.
