Plot summary
Suzanne and Rob are delighted that she is expecting a child. Rob is a doctor who specializes in genetic research, so the couple runs full tests on the fetus. The results show a healthy baby boy who will most likely be gay. Their joy fades as they ask whether they want to raise a gay son and whether he would be better off spared from society's marginalization. Suzanne talks to her parents, Walter and Phyllis, and tells them she is considering an abortion. Her gay brother David is troubled, because their conservative family has never fully accepted his sexual orientation.
