Plot summary
Pak Yin and her brother Pak Yeuk Tong are the last of a Chinese acrobat family that keeps a holy relic hidden. In Buddhist belief a Sharira is the crystallized essence of a holy man, and the jade medallion called the Heart of Dun Huang is said to unlock its secret. The family's sacred scroll shows the acrobatic moves needed to reach the relic. Eric, Yin's ex-boyfriend and a master thief, arrives at her door with the Heart, which he took from the treasure hunter Karl. Yin's father, who spent the family's money chasing the legend, is dead, and she asks Eric to leave. Karl wants the medallion back and knows where the family performs.
