Plot summary
Pharaoh's edict that every newborn Hebrew boy must die sends Moses's mother to the Nile, where she leaves her baby in a basket. Pharaoh's daughter Bithia finds him and raises him in the royal house. Bithia later has a son, Menerith, and the two grow up as brothers; Moses is introduced to Jochebed, Amram, Aaron and Miriam, his birth family. Years later, Prince Moses inspects a building site and sees an Egyptian overseer attack a Hebrew laborer's wife. He kills the overseer and hides the body, and when it is found Pharaoh orders his arrest. Moses escapes into the desert with Menerith's help, reaches Midian and defends Jethro's seven daughters. He marries Zipporah and climbs Mount Sinai, where God speaks from a burning bush and gives him the task of freeing the Hebrews.
