Plot summary
Jean-Jacques Castella owns a steel barrel plant in Rouen and is told he must learn English to do business with a group of Iranians. At the theater, where his niece plays a bit part in Bérénice, he recognizes the leading lady, Clara Devaux, an actress he once hired and promptly dismissed as an English tutor, and he signs up for lessons with her. His wife Angélique is an interior decorator who dotes on her dog. Bruno, Castella's flute-playing driver, has a fiancée doing an internship in the United States; Franck, a former police officer, serves as Castella's temporary bodyguard. Through Bruno, Franck meets Manie, a barmaid who sells drugs on the side, and Bruno also spends a night with her.
