Plot summary
Claire is a lonely hairstylist in Kansas City, Missouri. She discreetly kills some of her clients and scalps them, and keeping the scalps in her cellar is how she copes with her self-loathing. Olivia, a friend, means well when she asks Claire to style her hair for the wedding, and Claire agrees. Claire is mocked by Olivia's friends for being socially awkward, and she tries to fit in among them. Claire grows dangerously obsessed with Olivia and with the lives of the clients she serves, and her sanity begins to give way. Claire fights to keep her deadly urges in check.
