Plot summary
Shaun is a timid schoolboy, and Kris, the school's alpha male, is a fearsome bully who has made Shaun's life a misery. On her deathbed Shaun's grandmother gives him a precious and odd keepsake, promising that she will look after him and protect him in her absence, just as she always has. A spellbound book has come down through the family for generations, and it holds a spell for summoning an ancient being that lives in the woods. After another humiliation, Shaun takes the book into the woods and calls on the being, hoping it will answer him and stand against Kris.
