Plot summary
Nicole de Cortillon, a Frenchwoman in New York City, hunts for modeling work and talks her way into an agency's files by lying about her qualifications. The name and address she takes are the wrong ones, and she ends up in the advertising office of a baffled Jim Trevor, who is not a photographer. Locked out of her room over unpaid rent, she is helped by her friend Gloria, who urges her to find a rich husband. Gloria's friend Mike, head waiter at the Savoy Grand Hotel, has put aside $3000 toward a restaurant and needs $2000 more, so he is persuaded to put money behind a scheme to catch the attention of Bill Duncan, a hotel regular said to own half of Canada.
