Trailer

Plot summary

Guy Carrell, a British aristocrat, lives with his sister Kate and is certain he will one day be buried alive, a fear he blames on the cataleptic disease that runs in his family. He tells his fiancée Emily Gault about his father's tomb and the scream he believes he heard from it as a boy; Kate says it was imagination. Emily marries him anyway. At the wedding celebration a song on the piano throws him into a swoon, and that night his dog is found in the garden apparently struck by lightning and then rises unharmed. Convinced he nearly buried the animal alive, Guy grows more obsessed and constructs a burial vault fitted with safeguards, including a poisonous elixir, while Emily and his colleague Miles Archer watch his health with alarm.
