Biography

Heather Angel was a British actress who began in the theater at the Old Vic in 1926, toured with companies, and made her Broadway debut in Love of Women in 1937. Her first film was City of Song, and after Night in Montmartre and The Hound of the Baskervilles she moved to Hollywood. There she appeared in The Informer (1935), and she took a role in The Last of the Mohicans (1936). Beginning in 1937 she played Phyllis Clavering in five Bulldog Drummond films, and she went on to appear as Kitty Bennet in Pride and Prejudice (1940), the maid Ethel in Suspicion (1941), the lead in Time to Kill (1942) and a passenger in Lifeboat (1944). She also voiced parts in the Disney films Peter Pan (1953) and Alice in Wonderland (1951), later playing a continuing role in Peyton Place and a part in Family Affair. The Hollywood Walk of Fame gave her a star for her film work.
