Plot summary
On the night of March 13, 1997, an unexplained light appears in the sky over Phoenix, Arizona, and missing person cases are reported. The story is told as a documentary, built from an interview with an unidentified Air Force pilot and from footage Glenn Lauder shot with cameras taped to his ATV helmet. Glenn and his friends Mitch Adams, Ryan Stone and Jacob Reynolds load a truck for a trip into the Sierra Estrella foothills; Mitch, whose brother served as a US Marine, is the eager one. Helicopters and fighter jets pass overhead, along with odd disturbances in the air. In the hills the truck quits on them, so Jacob tries to fix it while the others search for a telephone. They find a fenced compound belonging to Walton S. Gayson, who accosts Jacob and tells them to go.
