Plot summary
Punk musicians who spent their youth as anti-authoritarian figures now raise children of their own. The documentary centers on Jim Lindberg, who has sung for the skate punk band Pennywise for twenty years, moving between concert tours and time at home with his kids. Interviews with more than twenty performers alternate with old and recent concert footage, and a professional skateboarder and other figures from the subculture also appear. Many of the performers describe an adolescence short on paternal guidance and say they work to be the supportive parents they never had. Lindberg had written a book about raising children while fronting his band, and the film grew from there.
