Plot summary
Richard Pace is a professional thief who has escaped from several of Werner Schultz's private prisons. He remains in one prison long enough to learn about a wealthy man known as the Prince, who is in Los Angeles. Pace tries to steal the Prince's watch collection, but the attempt is a trap. With Schultz and the FBI both pressing him, Pace chooses Schultz, who flies him out to meet three thieves: Ringo, a locksmith and master of disguise; Wick, an explosives expert; and Violet, a martial artist. They call themselves the Misfits. Their target is gold that Schultz made from laundered money and hid in a prison safe in Jazeristan. They want Pace's help to steal it and keep it from being used for terrorism. Pace refuses at first, but his daughter Hope changes his mind.
