Plot summary
Immaculata College, a small Catholic women's school in Philadelphia, needs a basketball coach, and in 1971 Cathy Rush takes the job. Women's college basketball is about to crown its first national champion, and the powerhouse universities are already preparing. Immaculata has no court, no uniforms and little support from Mother St. John, the mother superior, and the college is in serious financial trouble. Rush is recently married, her own playing career cut short, and she wants to coach anyway. Sister Sunday joins her as assistant coach, and a booster club of elderly nuns backs the team. She still has to find enough players to field a squad.
