Plot summary
Judith Albright, a former professional dancer who now teaches dance, has a stroke at her seventieth birthday party. She is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and moves into a nursing home. Her seventeen-year-old grandson Josh is close to her and objects to the move; his mother Barbara, Judith's daughter, tries to reassure him. Judith tells Josh that the arrangement is best for everyone. At the manor, she observes unusual behavior among the other residents and learns that some of them have died. A tree-like figure appears to loom in her room. Judith comes to believe that a supernatural force targets the residents, yet no one takes her seriously.
