Plot summary
Dave captains the Cowboys, an amateur side in South London whose players are overage and overweight, and the defeats keep coming. He hopes sponsorship money will follow if his daughter Jodie, who has taken a job with an American company, sees the team play well. Larry finds a different backer in the Taj, the town's worst Indian restaurant, and the players work shifts there in return. Its owner, Ajay, wants them to scare off a protection mob run by a gangster called American Bob. Jodie falls for Ajay's son Ramesh.
