Plot summary
Teddy comes to after a night of binge drinking with blood on his knuckles and no wedding band on his hand. Molly, his wife, is nowhere in the house. He goes to her mother's place, and there Angela and Molly's brother Gordon tell him that Molly is finished with him because he beat her badly while drunk. Teddy says he cannot recall doing it and shouts that he is sorry. Angela and Gordon order him away, but Molly chooses to leave with him, telling him that she is going back to the house and not to their marriage. Angela then scolds Gordon for failing to defend his sister. Gordon complains to a friend at a bar that he wishes Teddy were dead, and the friend mentions an ex-convict who might take the job.
