Joelle Carter

Biography

Joelle Carter is an American actress who moved to New York at 19 to work as a model, a detour that led her toward acting and eventually to Los Angeles. She trained at the William Esper Studio, and grew up in Georgia, where she attended Augusta State University on an athletic scholarship. Her film credits include High Fidelity (2000) and Jessabelle (2014), the latter a horror-thriller directed by Kevin Greutert. She drew notice as Ava Crowder in the FX series Justified, which she played from 2010 to 2015 and which brought a nomination for best supporting actress at the 2015 Critics' Choice Television Awards.
