Plot summary
In a stable in Bethlehem, a bold lamb named Judah lives with a lovable pig named Horace, a faint-hearted horse named Monty, a pedantic rat named Slink, a rambling rooster named Drake, a motherly cow named Esmay and a downtrodden donkey named Jack. The townspeople trap Judah, and he could become the sacrifice at the annual Festival, which he tries to avoid. Instead of staying in their barn, his stable mates set off from Bethlehem toward the great temple in Jerusalem to find him and free him. The events of the story unfold during the week before the crucifixion of Christ.
