Plot summary
An errand boy gets word of a crime that became one of the most infamous in the land and throws in with two desperate men who live outside the law. In 1870s Texas, not long after the Civil War, the three of them ride after fame and riches and meet figures notorious across the West, among them John Henry 'Doc' Holliday. One of the young outlaws says he holds a treasure worth more than gold. A bounty hunter and a desperado from Ireland are on the run from the law. Hell's Gate is the cliff above Possum Kingdom Lake in Texas, and the tale recounts how it took that name.
