First role
Glau's first television credit came in 2002 on Angel, where she played a prima ballerina dancing the title role in Giselle. Meeting director Joss Whedon on that set led to her being cast in his series Firefly.
A role that slipped away
Before she met Whedon, Glau auditioned for the White Wild Force Ranger Alyssa Enrile on Power Rangers Wild Force and lost the part to Jessica Rey.
Getting ready for a role
For the fight scenes in Serenity, Glau trained in wushu for 6 months, a rigorous course of training that took place in Alhambra.
Early training
Glau was homeschooled from grades 3 to 12 so she could focus on ballet training, and she earned a scholarship to a ballet company. She also studied tango and flamenco alongside her classical ballet training.
