The Last Thing Mary Saw (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

In Southold, New York, in the winter of 1843, Mary sits blindfolded and bleeding while an interrogator questions her about the death of her family's matriarch. Her account goes back to the home where she was raised, the youngest daughter of a family that lived by strict religious rules, and to the brief happiness she found with Eleanor, the maid. The family treats the attachment between the two women as a sin to be punished, and the household is already strained when a stranger arrives at the house. Mary's memory of the events is what her questioners want, and in it lie forces older than the family.
