Plot summary
Jason Delgado is out fishing when a strange storm moves in, and he returns to the house outside Seattle where he lives with his wife Ann and their two children. Inside, nothing will open: the doors, the windows, the phones and the internet have all stopped working, the neighbors are shut in just as they are, and other people are stranded outdoors. Jason tries the glass, the walls and the floor, but water has formed a barrier on every side. The electricity still runs and there is water, but two days pass with no change, so he and Ann begin rationing food, water and power, and they keep the children occupied with activities and simple lessons in surviving.
