Plot summary
Four volunteers, three men and one woman, take part in a paid research study: Paul Brodie, Tony Mazzolla, Crawford Haines and Emily Reilly. Each is led into a large white room where the tables and chairs are bolted to the floor and given a questionnaire to fill out. A researcher comes in to outline the work ahead, saying the study will take about eight hours and pay each of them $250. The study belongs to a covert government program, a modern-day version of Project MKULTRA, which had reportedly been shut down close to twenty years before. The four are now its subjects.
