Plot summary
Sarah O'Neill, trying to leave a broken past behind, settles with her son Chris in a house at the edge of a forest outside a rural Irish town. While driving home, she nearly hits an old woman, Noreen Brady, standing in the road, and the car crashes. After an argument about his father, Chris runs into the trees, and Sarah finds him beside a large sinkhole. At a dinner party, friends tell of Noreen's belief that her own son was not her child. Noreen attacks the car and screams that Chris is not Sarah's son, until her husband Des restrains her.
