Plot summary
Susan Daniels works at a job to cover the cost of her own education while her boyfriend, Andy Schaeffer, drifts through college without much effort. Andy is spoiled and used to getting his way, and Susan is unsure what will become of the two of them. His grades begin to fall, and the army drafts him. He reports to Fort Ord for basic training, making no secret of his wish to be someplace else.

- Warner Bros. approached Marion Hargrove to write a story about a draftee in the army in peacetime, but he wanted accuracy after leaving the army in 1945, so he arranged through the studio to enlist and take basic training at Fort Ord.
