Plot summary
Caitlin ends their relationship on graduation day, and Nick begs her to take him back during the ceremony itself. His friend Shane persuades him to come along to the Giant Music Festival, where they already hold tickets and where Shane hopes to see DJ Hammerhead, a performer who hides behind a shark mask. Amy, an Australian who has been to the festival nine years running, strikes up a conversation with them on the train, and all three are thrown off for using child tickets. Walking the rest of the way, Nick and Shane look for somewhere to camp and run into Caitlin with her wealthy university friends, who invite them into an expensive tent. They also meet a man nicknamed Pirate, whose leg has been amputated and who takes an interest in Caitlin.
