Plot summary
The tomb of Lord Charles Francis Selford holds a deposit of jewels, and a door with seven locks guards it, each lock with its own key. Only the seven keys together can open the way in, and a series of mysterious events scatters them, so the treasure stays sealed away. June Lansdowne is the rightful heiress, and she arrives to claim the fortune that should be hers. The companion investigators who take up the matter begin asking what became of the keys, and in trying to untangle the circumstances they find themselves caught up in fraud, deceit, torture and murder.
