Plot summary
Days have passed since Tarlee left his wife, Lemon, and their son, Coy, alone at their home on an Appalachian mountain, where Tarlee works for the Runion family. Lemon assumes he has gone off on a bender. Two of Tommy Runion's men arrive, take Lemon to see the family matriarch, and stay behind to watch Coy. Tommy says Tarlee stole from her and was given a chance to settle what he owed by doing a task for her, but he vanished instead, and she believes he took her money. She holds Coy to force Lemon into finishing the job, so Lemon sets out to find her husband.
