Plot summary
Ian Stone plays ice hockey, and Jenny Walker is at the center of his life. Driving home after a loss, he spots what looks like a dead body beside the railroad tracks. It attacks him, forces him onto the rails, and a train runs him over. He wakes in an office cubicle, older, sharing a home with Medea; Jenny is a coworker now, and other faces seem familiar. A strange old man warns him that the Harvesters are hunting him, beings who cannot be killed and who live on human fear. When the clocks stop, they come for him. Each death drops him into another life, in another place, and the hunt starts again.
