Biography

Andrew Buchan is an English actor and writer. Born in Stockport in 1979 and raised in Bolton, he later received training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after graduating from Durham University. His stage work includes Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet at the Royal Exchange in Manchester and Arthur Miller's play The Man Who Had All the Luck, staged at the Donmar Warehouse, where he later played Bolingbroke in Richard II. On television he played Scott Foster in Party Animals and the lead John Mercer in The Fixer, and he starred as William Garrow in Garrow's Law. He was Mark Latimer in Broadchurch, winning a Dagger for best supporting actor from the Crime Thriller Awards. His films include Nowhere Boy (2009), Still Life (2013), The Last Dragonslayer (2016), All the Money in the World (2017), The Mercy (2018) and Intrigo: Samaria (2019). He has also done extensive voice work for radio, audiobooks and documentaries.

Buchan trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after graduating from Durham University in 2001 with a degree in Modern Languages.
