Plot summary
Red Wing loves Black Wolf, and the Kiowa chief wants his daughter Dawn to consider Black Wolf as a husband. Dawn wishes to wed White Eagle, and White Eagle's bravery is tested while a jealous rival and Comanche warriors bring the tribe trouble. The picture shows Plains Indian life through bison hunts, dances and a battle. More than three hundred Comanche and Kiowa people took part, wearing their own clothing and bringing their own belongings, including tepees, and the filming was done in the Wichita Mountains. Completed in 1920, the film was screened only a few times, and it was long considered lost.

- The Daughter of Dawn was feared lost until a private investigator, paid for a job with the film, offered it to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art's Brian Hearn for $35,000 in 2005; the Oklahoma Historical Society bought it two years later for $5,000.
- More than 300 Comanche and Kiowa people acted in the film, including White and Wanada Parker, children of Quanah Parker; the cast wore their own clothing and brought personal items such as tepees.
