The Cold Light of Day (2012) on Netflix

Plot summary

Will Shaw runs a consultancy in San Francisco that is heading toward insolvency. He reluctantly travels to Spain for a holiday with his family, and his father Martin, who advises the U.S. government, meets him there; the tension between father and son is plain. Sailing, Will is distracted by his phone, an accident follows, and he swims to town for medical supplies. When he gets back, the boat has moved and his family is gone. The police hand him to Zahir, who says he knows where they are, and Will suspects something is wrong. Martin appears and drives the officers off, then tells Will that the kidnappers want a briefcase he took on an assignment.
