Plot summary
Eleven-year-old Jonathan Knicks daydreams in the outfield while a flyball bounces off his glove. At the home of Henry Coogan, once the closest friend of his late grandfather, Jonathan sees blueprints marked Time Traveler Project. Max Knickerbocker died attempting a solo crossing of the Atlantic four days before Charles Lindbergh. Bedridden after a heart attack, Henry has built the machine Max only conceived; a window in time opens at 7:30 the next morning. Jonathan starts the machine with a skeleton key and lands in May 1927, where a bootlegger named Finch wants the key.
