Plot summary
Henrietta Winslow, a cat lover, asks her relatives to gather at her mansion. She plans to divide her fortune among niece Myrna, granddaughter Margaret, and granddaughter Elaine; Myrna's husband Montague will receive $10,000. Real estate agent Gil Smith and antiques dealer Mr. Penny slip onto the property, but Gil's cat allergy exposes them. Montague had sent for them, and Henrietta is angry that he wants to break up the estate. Gil stops an attempt to poison Henrietta. She then says the money cannot be distributed until servant Abigail also dies. That night a cat is poisoned, and soon Henrietta is found dead. The relatives refuse to leave, and Gil and Elaine begin looking into the strange happenings.
