Plot summary
Childhood friends Olly Pickering and Murray part when Olly goes to university, where he meets James. When Murray vomits on James, instant enmity develops between them. Olly receives a large advance for a novel, but writer's block costs him the money, and he moves in with Murray and takes a job in London as an assistant to a self-help editor. When James announces his wedding, he asks Olly to be best man and write a funny speech. At the pre-wedding party, Olly meets and falls for Sarah without knowing she is James's girlfriend; James thinks Olly is interested in Becka. Murray, who dislikes James, is determined to stop the wedding.
