Plot summary
Two actors meet a director at the City of Dreams Resort in Manila, where they are auditioning for his newest film, a story about a ruthless businessman who runs a chain of international casinos. Both have worked with the director for years, on several films each, and neither expects to find himself reading for the same part. The three continue on to Studio City in Macau, where the director explains the role as they travel. Each actor makes his case for why he is right for it, listing his personal reasons, and together the two of them wear the director down.

- The Audition cost around $70 million, and Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio were reportedly paid $13 million each for less than two days' work on the short.
