Plot summary
Fifteen years after leaving Beacon Hills, Scott McCall manages an animal shelter in Los Angeles next to Alan Deaton's clinic, and Lydia Martin is employed by an energy company in San Francisco. Derek Hale, who has a teenage son named Eli, works at an auto repair shop with Malia Tate and Peter Hale. In Japan, Liam Dunbar and the kitsune Hikari Zhang guard an urn that holds the Nogitsune. A hooded figure raids the restaurant and sets the Nogitsune free, then sets fires in the Beacon Hills forest. Scott, Lydia and Chris Argent see visions of Allison Argent, who died years earlier, and they come to believe her soul is trapped. Scott returns to Beacon Hills with Jackson Whittemore for a ritual at the Nemeton.
