Plot summary

Tamara Riley lives with her alcoholic, abusive father after her mother left. She does well in class but has no friends and is teased about her looks. She has a crush on Bill Natolly, who teaches English at her school. When the school paper prints her article about athletes using performance-enhancing drugs, Shawn and Patrick, two star athletes, harass her and promise retaliation. Bill calms her down; she tries to kiss him and he gently turns her away. Tamara tries a spell meant to tie her life to Bill's, but she backs off when the rite demands her own blood. That night Shawn and Patrick and Kisha, Shawn's girlfriend, set up a prank: a call pretending to be Bill lures her to a motel room with a hidden camera. Chloe, Jesse and Roger are there too, not knowing the plan.
