Plot summary
Pilar has been living in an apartment in a residential part of Toledo with her husband, Antonio, and their son, Juan. One night she gathers a few belongings and leaves, and her sister, Ana, who restores paintings and shares a home in the old part of the city with her Scottish boyfriend, John, gives them shelter. Antonio wants Pilar to come back; she is tired and afraid of him. He wants to change and enrolls in a therapy group for married men with anger problems. Pilar takes a job at a tourist site where Ana also works, begins studying to become a tour guide, and gets to know other women there.
